Texas Governor Backs Resolution Affirming Sovereignty

Texas Governor Rick Perry spoke out today on the subject of state’s rights:

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,”

While I do agree with the basic tenants of this statement – particularly the idea that the federal government is too large and overreaches its proper bounds, but I’d go ahead and include every level of government in that statement.  Governor Perry continues:

“Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas.”

Well, Mr. Texas I think the rest of us are pretty tired of having Texans tell us how to run our lives…

Maybe Perry should talk to Chuck Norris.
